A Jubilant Start To June

The monthly meeting and Du Foundation’s 13th Annual Day coincided on the 7th of June. This made the meeting extra special, both alumni and present students participated in large numbers.

The students were eager to be a part of the celebration and turned it into a revelation as many came forward with hidden knacks.

Komal Kudav started off the meeting with a soulful melody. Komal has never let her visual challenges impact her dream. She is now pursuing her M.A. in Music.

Seema Dongre, an alumnus, is now a celebrated orator. She spends her time managing both family and business and gives rousing speeches about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

A lot of the visiting alumni spoke about their journey with DU Foundation. Mr Avinash Thakre, a student of the 2014 batch, expressed his gratitude for the Foundation’s role in his life and for helping him become an engineer. As an orphan, we provided both moral and financial support to Rushikesh Sonawane. He’s now working in a respected position in an MNC and also visits Germany for his work.

Mr Vaibhav Nichite was selected as a Tahsildar. As an orphan, the Foundation ensured he had all the moral support he needed. He was able to make extensive use of the Foundation’s library facility for his exam prep.

As we neared the end of the event, Mr Dewal wished all the students well. He also reminisced about the Foundation’s journey since 2012. He expressed his hopes for numerous more achievements for the Foundation as well as the plans to keep taking the Foundation to newer heights and helping more people.

The day marked not just a celebration of all that DU Foundation is, but also all that DU Foundation hopes to be.
